Textile weaves are an intricate part of our lives. India is known for its rich heritage of textile weaving with diverse range of weaving techniques & styles from Jamdhani, Kantha, Ikat, Chanderi, Kanchipuram etc We wanted kids to get curious about the weaves when they see the different textiles they come across in their daily lives. Bunai acts as a frame that lets you try different weave patterns, remove the yarns and make an altogether new pattern with a different combination using the same yarns. How to Play: 1. Pick a 11 or 17 number rods frame pattern from the booklet. 2. Pick the coloured yarn with reference to the pattern from the booklet 3. Weave the yarn according to the pattern, you can cut the yarn once a row is completed or continue with the same yarn if the colour is getting repeated for many rows. 4. The darker shade of the same colour in the booklet represents the thread passing behind the rod 5. Use the next colour yarn according to the pattern 6. You can tie the ends of the yarns together 7. Display your Bunai on your table 8. You can remove the yarns and make the next patterns 9. Create your own patterns with different combinations and give wings to your creativity
