This large economical ball-pein (peen) hammer is an effective general-use tool that is good for flattening, shaping or removing dents from metal. Ball-pein hammers feature at least one ball-shaped face, ideal for "peening" (spreading) rivet heads to seat them and for shaping, flattening, texturing and other light forging work. The traditional Swiss Style watch-making hammer features two faces: a chisel-shaped end and a flat face. This hammer is great to use as a riveting hammer; the chisel-shaped end effectively sets the rivets, and the flat face refines and finishes the rivet heads. The riveting hammer features one flat face and one narrow, chiseled cross-peen face. Use the wedge-shaped cross-peen face to set the rivets, then use the flat face to refine and finish the rivet heads, as well as for general forming applications.
