Zishta handmade natural soapstone is naturally non-stick by the time your pot is fully seasoned and can be cooked using little to no Oil. Most of the steam/moisture & oils in the food remain in the pot so a lot of times little to no additional oil/liquids are required. This Kalchatti is traditionally used to cook in a wood fire and age-old traditional utensil passed on for several generations. Kalchatti is made of stone (soapstone) from the earth and is designed to retain heat and keep food warm for 4-5 hours. The natural minerals are imparted to the cooked food thereby providing the right supplements and nutrition. We bring this back from the last generation of artisans toiling 16 hours a day to make the best Kalchatti. Always store in a clean dry place. After use, cookware must be dried well. Wash the cookware with any natural cleanser (ash, coarse salt, baking soda etc.) and water. Salt is a good, natural scrub for all natural cookware. Fill the cookware with water and boil it. Avoid using chemicals on tradition style vessels, as it may get stored in the pores of the cookware/serveware.
