The temperature is measured from a safe distance of up to 5cm. Measurement can be taken in either Celsius or Fahrenheit scales. It has audio-visual alarms for fever detection and range. The backlight changes to orange color if it detects a temperature above 99.6 °F. The product is CE marked and carries a one-year warranty.
