BIODIGEST is composed of natural nitrifying, denitrifying and facultative bacterial strains selected for their ability to transform ammonia into nitrites, nitrites into nitrates and nitrates into nitrogen. Biological filtration is quickly established by nitrifying bacteria such as Nitrosomonas europea, Nitrobacter winogradskyi… Cleaning by digestion of organic waste is favored by the presence of many different strains of heterotrophic bacteria present in optimal proportions such as Paracoccus denitrificans and Pseudomonas stuzerii…. These bacteria work as a team, with each strain completing the work started by the others. Some are able to bio-synthesize denitrifying enzymes under aerobic conditions. This allows a very good purification of the water, a reduction of nitrates, phosphates as well as the prevention of the proliferation of algae including cyanobacteria.
